Honey
Hello everyone, we have finally started harvesting our honey. George started yesterday, and today we have around 26 gallons. We made a short clip of him uncapping a frame and then beginning the filtering process…I posted it on our Facebook Page.
George had already replaced the frames he’d taken with empty frames in the hives as this gives the bees room to grow. After he finished spinning the honey, he placed the empty frames in the garage and quickly changed his mind because many of the bees came to inspect them. He moved the frames near the hives so the bees could clean them up, which is a common practice. You place the used frames by the hives, and the bees will remove any remaining honey residue which then prepares the frames for future use.

Farmer’s Market
Tomorrow, we’ll be at the Conway Farmer’s Market to sell our fresh honey, and some mixed lettuce, eggs, and more. George recently finished his “lettuce washing station” setup, and he was out there this morning and said it was working like a charm. That bubbler really works! He will be using it for many garden vegetables like carrots and potatoes, which are not quite ready to be harvested yet.
Hope to see you there.
