Market Line-up for October 24th & 31st at the Conway Farmer’s Market

Happy Autumn, everyone!

We will be at the Farmer’s Market very soon with some creamed honey and George’s famous Baklava! We have bottled our last bit of honey and are setting up our hives for the cooler season. We have some supers to put together and paint for spring in the hopes of doubling our nine hives.

Baby Bees Emerging

I have a cute little video to share of two baby bees emerging from their comb. I slowed it down a little so you can watch how the one will jiggle out and then flap her wings once free. You can see the little cap “lid” next to the baby bee and a few nurse bees are cleaning up the combs and preparing for more babies.

Micro-Plants

Our micro snacking plants are growing beautifully under their grow lights. From left to right is our snacking cucumber, our bonsai basil, the micro-tomato, and finally the micro-sweet pepper. It’s a wonderful project to have freshly grown vegetables right at your fingertips.

Autumn Blooms.

It’s in autumn that we…Oh, who am I kidding, it’s all year long that we talk about what, when, and where to plant bee-happy native plants and trees.

Then nature reveals its autumn gems. Our native goldenrod is wonderful for bees and the pesty morning glory that looks to be choking out our grape vines are feeding adorable native bees. I love seeing their little butts in the blooms of the flowers! Enjoy!
